Day 2 / Sunday — Warsaw – Gdańsk
Breakfast at the hotel. Half-day panoramic tour of Warsaw — capital of Poland since 1596, when Sigismund III Vasa moved the capital from Krakow. The city is known for its impressive Old Town, completely destroyed after the Warsaw Uprising in 1944 and meticulously rebuilt, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the Market Square we see the Mermaid monument, symbol of Warsaw, surrounded by the beautifully decorated houses of the old bourgeois families. We also visit the Royal Route, Łazienki Park, and the monuments to Chopin and the Warsaw Uprising. Afternoon departure towards Gdańsk. Check-in at the hotel.
Day 3 / Monday — Gdańsk and Sopot
Breakfast at the hotel. Panoramic tour of Gdańsk — birthplace of Hevelius, Fahrenheit, Schopenhauer, Grass and Wałęsa, among others, a city that surprises with its monuments of civic, religious, military and maritime architecture, with ten centuries of fascinating culture and turbulent history. We visit the colossal Gothic Basilica of St. Mary, the Long Market — one of the most beautiful in Europe — with the Neptune statue. The medieval Crane Gate on the banks of the Motława river, a popular symbol of Gdańsk, leads us to Oliwa, known for its impressive cathedral (concert included) housing an extraordinary 18th-century organ. Accommodation at the Gdańsk hotel.
Day 4 / Tuesday — Gdańsk – Malbork – Toruń
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards Toruń; on the way, a visit to Malbork Castle — the residence of the Teutonic Knights (entrance included). Arrival in Toruń — panoramic tour of the city, birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus, featuring its impressive 13th-century Town Hall (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the old town, St. John's Cathedral, St. James's Church and the House of Copernicus. Accommodation at the Toruń hotel.
Day 5 / Wednesday — Toruń – Wrocław
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards Wrocław. In the afternoon, panoramic tour of Wrocław, with its many bridges over the Oder river that give the city a unique and charming atmosphere. We explore the Market Square with its 13th-century Gothic Town Hall in the old town. Accommodation at the hotel.
Day 6 / Thursday — Wrocław – Częstochowa – Krakow
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Wrocław. On the way, a visit to the Jasna Góra Monastery in Częstochowa (entrance included) — Poland's most sacred site, home of the Black Madonna. Onward to Krakow. Accommodation at the Krakow hotel.
Day 7 / Friday — Krakow
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning panoramic tour of Krakow — for much of its history the capital of Poland. The most notable buildings are the Royal Castle and cathedral on Wawel Hill; the medieval city (Stare Miasto) with its beautiful market square, one of the largest in Europe; dozens of old churches and museums; and the 14th-century buildings of the Jagiellonian University. The Gothic Basilica of St. Mary (entrance included), built in the 14th century, borders the market square and houses the famous altarpiece by Veit Stoss.
