Bratislava
Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, stretches along the Danube River near the borders with Austria and Hungary. It is surrounded by vineyards and the mountainous region of the Little Carpathians, crossed by forested trails ideal for hiking and cycling. The Old Town, built in the 18th century, is pedestrian-only and is known for its lively bars and cafés. Perched atop a hill, Bratislava's reconstructed castle offers sweeping views over the Old Town and the Danube.
