During our Grand City Tour we will visit the most remarkable and historical sights of Pest and Buda. On the Pest side: the Synagogue, the New York Café, the City Park with the Heroes‘ Square and the Vajdahunyad Castle. Passing along the Andrassy Avenue we can admire the spectacular facades of the State Opera House, the St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Parliament. On the Buda side: the Castle District, where we walk by the Fishermen’s Bastion and the Matthias Church. We go up to the Citadel, which, with its 

breath-taking view, is one of the best points to take some incredible pictures of the capital. We finish our tour in Pest, next to the Great Market Hall.

Guided tour through the inside of the magnificent House of Parliament of Hungary*, the most emblematic building of the country and the world’s 3rd biggest Parliament. In the hall of the dome we will see the Hungarian Coronation Jewels. We continue the tour with the St. Stephen’s Cathedral, where one of the most important relics of the Hungarian Catholics can be found: the Holy Right Hand, the mummified hand of King Stephen I., first king of Hungary and Saint. Our last stop is the tour of the State Opera House, a stunning neorenaissance palace, built in the times of the Austro – Hungarian Empire.

The Parliament reserves the right of admission on special occasions, such as national holidays, visits of heads of states etc.

During this tour we will walk through the Jewish district, through the most important buildings and palaces. We visit the Synagogue of Dohány utca, the world’s second largest synagogue and the most important Jewish monument of Europe and the 

Hungarian capital as well. In the Synagogue’s Garden we will see the Tree of Lide, the Heroes’ Temple and the Cemetery / Memory Park. Close to the Synagogue there is a possibility to have a coffe and a typical Hungarian dessert.

A romantic escape from the capital to discover this lovely small baroque town. We walkt by the narrow streets of the city along the riverside. We continue our excursion with visiting the Orthodox Church of Szentendre, meeting with the icons of the church. There is a chance to visit one of the several museums: the Hungarian Ceramics Museum of Margit Kovács or the Marzipan Museum. In the freetime there is a possibility 

to have a coffee in one of the enchanting coffee houses or buy some little gifts for the family in the charming little shops. Between May and September, if the weather allows, we will come back to Budapest by boat.

A full day excursion to the magnificent Danube Bend, the most impressive part of the river in Hungary. We pass along the Roman ruins of Obuda and, after a 1-hour ride, we arrive to the medieval town called Visegrád, The High Castle, also called the “Hill of Clouds” with a wonderful view from the “Castle of the Sky” of the hills. Our next stop is Esztergom, the old capital of Hungary and centre of the Hungarian Church. We pass through the Maria Valeria Bridge over the Danube arriving to Slovakia, the city of Sturovo / Párkány, from where we will admire the most beautiful view of the Castle Hill 

of the Hungarian kings. We return to the “Hungarian Vatican” where the biggest basilica of the country can be found. Inside the enormous church we can see, among other curiosities, the renaissance chapel and the tomb of Cardinal Mindszenty. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Our final destination is Szentendre, where we have a little walk along the old town and then we enter to the Orthodox Church. There is also an opportunity to shop in the craft shops of the town.

During the tour in the museum and the walk in the Palace’s gardens, we 

evoke the times of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Our guide will reveal the secrets of the bedrooms, hidden doors, the private life and the lovers of the royal couple. There is also a possibility to have a coffee in the Palace, in an imperial style.

We continue the excursion to the traditional stables of the Valley of Domony, where we will be welcomed with a cup of Hungarian Pálinka and the salted pastry called “pogácsa”. After a carriage ride in the neighborhood we can enjoy a horse-show. The lunch we have here is the typical lunch of the Hungarian pastors of the farms. At the end of the day we return to Budapest.

In the traditional village of Herend we visit one of the biggest porcelain manufactories in the world, built in 1826. After a guided walk along the workshops we invite you to a coffee (there is also a possibility to shop). We continue the tour to the Lake Balaton, which is the biggest freshwater lake in Central-Europe. Our first stop here is Balatonfüred, where the most famous bath is located among other well-known sights.

We take a walk on the famous “Tagore Sétány” and then we have lunch in a Hungarian “csárda”, a typical restaurant of the region with traditional Hungarian cuisine. We go on with the tour to the picturesque peninsula of Tihany where we enter to the Benedictine Abbey, built in 1055. After enjoying the wonderful panorama from there and taking some pictures of the view, we return to Budapest.

Spend an unforgettable day in the Puszta! After the pick-up at the hotel and a 1,5-hour drive, we arrive to Kecskemét to see some nice examples for the Hungarian Art Nuevo. We walk around the beautiful downtown and visit the most important squares and buildings, like the Main Square with the famous City Hall, the Theatre and the churches (guided walk).We continue our tour to a traditional Hungarian farm in Lajosmizse. After receiving greetings of the horse(-herds)men, you can taste the famous Hungarian welcome drink, “pálinka” and the salty pastry called “pogácsa”. Then you will be taken to a carriage ride around and through the Puszta. The day continues with a traditional horse show and then a tasty three-course lunch accompanied by Hungarian gipsy music.
