We introduce you a program which allows you to visit one of the best wineries in Spain where you can enjoy a tasting of its best wine. It includes accommodation on the historic-cultural heart of Logrono, starting point to visit the rich heritage of the capital of La Rioja, tasting the exquisite cuisine not forgetting the visit of the winery.

The wine region of The Rioja in La Rioja is located in the Ebro Valley, between the Ebro River to the north and the Sierra de la Demanda to the south, with influences from the Atlantic and Mediterranean climates. This geographical location, the climate conditions and constitution of the land makes it a privileged region for growing grapes. The vineyard area enshrined by the Certification of Origin Qualified Rioja in La Rioja is about 40,000 hectares, divided into two regions with different wine characteristics: High Rioja and South Rioja. The average annual production of Rioja is 250 million liters, of which 85% are red wine and the rest are white and rosé wine.

Depending on how long the wine remains in barrel it is classified as:

Young Wine

It is the wine that is made in the same year of the grape harvest and it is not subjected to any process of aging. They retain their primary freshness and fruity characteristics.

Aging Wine

It corresponds to wines at least in their third year, which have spent at least a year, aging in barrels in the case of red wines, and six months in case of the white and rosé wines.

Reserve Wine

Red wines which are selected wines from the best vintages, which for their good characteristics have been aged for three years between barrel and bottle, of which at least one in barrel and White and Rosé Wines that have been aged in oak barrels and bottle for, at least, a total period of two years with a minimum duration of barrel aging of 6 months.

Grand Reserve Wine

Red Wines which is the highest qualification of the Regulatory Council. These wines are selected from exceptional vintages that have spent at least two years in barrel and three in bottle and White and Rosé Wines aged in oak barrels and bottle for, at least, a total period of four years with a minimum aging in oak barrels of six months. You should bear in mind that wine is a ‘living being’ so it should be treated with great care and do not shake the bottle under any circumstances. Every moment of a good meal requires a different wine to accompany with. Learning to serve the wine properly is a ritual that enhances the pleasure of tasting.
