We invite you to discover the "Madrid of the Austrias" during the best season of the year, which allows you to walk the streets in a more comfortable way. The nickname for this part of the centre of Madrid has a historical origin: it is in this area where the Habsburg dynasty created the historic buildings of a village they chose as the capital of Spain. Its buildings are reminiscent of the Spanish imperial era, when the Habsburgs governed an empire that stretched from the Netherlands to America. Come and travel across "Madrid of the Austrias" accompanied by one of our guides and visit the inside of the Royal Palace.
Programme (4 days / 3 nights)
Day 1 — Arrival in Madrid
Arrival in Madrid and private transfer with English speaking driver to the chosen hotel. Free day to explore the city.
Day 2 — Madrid of the Austrias
Breakfast at the hotel. The local guide will pick you up at the hotel and you will start the visit to the "Madrid of the Austrias", with entrance to the Royal Palace. The neighbourhood extends from Sol, crossing Calle Mayor and Arenal to La Latina and Plaza de Oriente. The tour begins by walking the few metres that divide La Puerta del Sol from Plaza Mayor — the Heart of the Habsburgs. From there, Calle Mayor leads to Bailén, La Almudena and Plaza de Oriente – Royal Palace. On the other side lies La Latina with its vibrant nightlife.
Day 3 — Madrid
Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to keep discovering the city.
Day 4 — Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to keep discovering the city. Private transfer with English speaking driver to the airport.
