Prague Student Excursions

Panoramic Tour of Prague
We explore the main streets and monuments of the Staré Město district, admiring the majesty of the Powder Tower (Gothic style) and the Municipal House (Art Nouveau), then follow the Royal Road along Celetná Street to the Old Town Square, with the Church of Our Lady before Týn and the famous Astronomical Clock. Continuing along Karlova Street we reach Charles Bridge, the city's most famous bridge. We pass through the Jewish Quarter and finish the tour by the Clock.

Visit to Prague Castle
The tour begins at Republic Square by the Renaissance Hotel, from where we transfer by coach to Prague Castle, which offers the finest views over the city. We visit the Basilica of St George, the St Vitus Cathedral Treasury, explore the Castle grounds and visit the Royal Palace and St Vitus Cathedral, before passing through the various courtyards to reach the Golden Lane — named after the goldsmiths who lived there in the 18th century and where Franz Kafka's house can be found. The tour ends in the Malá Strana district.

Vltava River Cruise and Black Light Theatre
We meet at a central point and, accompanied by a local English-speaking guide, make our way to the embarkation pier. Over the course of one hour we will discover the city's most fascinating stories and enjoy a unique perspective of Prague as seen from the river. During the cruise we will enjoy a drink and have the opportunity to stay inside the boat or step out onto the deck to take photos.

Karlovy Vary from Prague
Departing early from the hotels, we travel (115 km) to the Czech Republic's most important spa town, Karlovy Vary — also known as Karlsbad. Recently restored, the town is an open-air museum of countless 19th-century palaces, spa houses and healing thermal springs (ranging from 32 to 72 degrees). We take a guided walking tour of the entire town and sample the waters. Free time for lunch, a stroll, a dip or shopping. We then return to Prague.

Terezín — A Place of Remembrance
Some 60 km north of Prague lies Terezín, a former medieval fortress used by the Nazis during the Second World War as a concentration camp. At the camp it is possible to visit the barracks, courtyards and other spaces where we immerse ourselves in one of the darkest chapters of recent history. In the town itself we can visit the Ghetto Museum and the Magdeburg Barracks Museum, which document the daily life of prisoners in the camp. The tour ends at the Crematorium — one of the most moving parts of the visit — where thousands of prisoners were cremated.
