Programme — Croatia Complete 8 days / 7 nights

Day 1 — Zagreb

Arrival in Zagreb and transfer to the hotel. Panoramic tour of the city with a local guide: the hills, the old town, the Upper Town and the main districts of the capital. Zagreb has its roots in the medieval settlements of Gradec and Kaptol (from 1094) and is home to landmarks such as the Croatian National Theatre, the Art Pavilion, the Academy of Sciences and Arts, the University Library, and numerous museums, galleries and parks. Overnight.

Day 2 — Zagreb › Plitvice › Opatija

Breakfast. Departure for Plitvice Lakes National Park. The park covers around 30,000 hectares, of which 22,000 are forested. The central visitor area encompasses 8 km² of woodland with its famous chain of lakes and waterfalls. Lunch. Arrival in Opatija, an elegant town on the shores of Kvarner Bay, known since the 19th century as a summer retreat for kings, emperors, aristocrats and artists. Known as the "Austrian Riviera", its first grand hotel dates from 1840. Free time. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3 — Opatija › Istria › Opatija

Breakfast. Excursion to Istria, the "Terra Magica". Visit to Pula with its magnificent Roman amphitheatre (one of the best preserved in the world), and to Rovinj — nicknamed "Little Venice" — with the Euphrasian Basilica (UNESCO World Heritage). Lunch at a local restaurant. Return to Opatija.

Day 4 — Opatija › Zadar

Breakfast. Transfer to Zadar. Lunch. City tour: the largest Roman Forum on the northern Adriatic, the Cathedral of St. Anastasia (Romanesque), the church of St. Chrysogonus and the celebrated Church of St. Donatus. Zadar is also home to the oldest university in Croatia (founded in 1396) and the innovative Sea Organ. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5 — Zadar › Dubrovnik

Breakfast. Departure for Dubrovnik. Guided tour of this jewel of the Adriatic, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site: the medieval walls (1,940 metres), the main street Stradun, the Orlando Column, the Rector's Palace (Gothic-Renaissance) and the famous churches and monasteries. Lunch. Free afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik.

Day 6 — Dubrovnik › Split

Breakfast. Transfer to Split. City tour, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site: 17 centuries of uninterrupted life within the walls of the historic centre. We visit the symbol of the city, the Mausoleum of Emperor Diocletian, subsequently converted into the Cathedral of Saint Domnius. Lunch and free time.

Zagreb

Day 7 — Split › Trogir › Zagreb

Breakfast. Departure for Trogir, a small city set on an island with 2,300 years of uninterrupted history. Its extraordinary heritage reflects Greek, Roman and Venetian influences, with numerous palaces, churches, towers and a fortress on a nearby island. Since 1997 it has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Continuation to Zagreb. Overnight.

Day 8 — Zagreb › Airport

Breakfast. Free time until the transfer to the airport for the return flight.
