Programme — Vienna, Salzburg and Tyrol 8 days / 7 nights

Day 1 — Arrival in Vienna

Arrival at Vienna Airport. Transfer to the hotel with assistance from an expert Spanish-speaking guide. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2 — Vienna, city tour

Breakfast and full-day tour. Schönbrunn Palace, the Baroque Belvedere Palace (walk), the Ringstrasse with the Museums of Fine Arts and Natural History, the Heroes' Gate, Parliament, City Hall, the UN headquarters and Vienna's modern quarter, the Hundertwasser House. Lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, a stroll through the old town: St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Opera House and the Hofburg. Admissions included: Schönbrunn Palace and the Opera House. Free afternoon. Dinner in the picturesque village of Grinzing.

Day 3 — Vienna › Danube Valley › Vienna Woods

Buffet breakfast. Excursion to the west of Vienna. Passing through Krems, the Austrian wine capital, we reach Dürnstein, where according to legend Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned. Following the Danube to Spitz, then by boat to Melk (approx. 1 hr 30 min). Lunch in Melk. Visit to the Benedictine Abbey of Melk, the cradle of Austria, built on a rock above the Danube and famous through the novel The Name of the Rose. Return to Vienna by motorway. Dinner and overnight.
(The boat season begins on 16 April; if the trip falls before that date, the entire route will be by coach and the boat cost will be deducted.)

Day 4 — Vienna › Salzkammergut › Salzburg (330 km)

Buffet breakfast. Free morning in Vienna. After lunch, departure through the stunning scenery of the Austrian Lake District: the Traunsee and the Wolfgangsee, at the foot of 3,000 m peaks in a dreamlike Alpine setting. Brief stops in Traunkirchen and St. Wolfgang. Arrival in Salzburg. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5 — Salzburg

Buffet breakfast. Panoramic tour of Salzburg, the "Rome of the North": the medieval Fortress, Mozart's birthplace, the Mirabell Gardens, the pedestrianised historic centre and the Cathedral. Lunch. In the afternoon, excursion to the Berchtesgaden Salt Mines and Hellbrunn Palace (1615), the former summer residence of Archbishop Marcus Sitticus, renowned throughout Europe for its private gardens, water features, the Bird Grotto and the mechanical figure theatre with its original mechanisms. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6 — Salzburg › Krimml › Innsbruck

Buffet breakfast. Departure for Tyrol. Visit to the Krimml Waterfalls, the largest outdoor waterfalls in Central Europe, with five cascading tiers. Arrival in Innsbruck. Lunch. Panoramic tour: Maria-Theresien-Strasse, the St. Anne's Column, the Golden Roof and the Cathedral. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7 — Innsbruck › Neuschwanstein › Munich

Buffet breakfast. Departure by private coach to Füssen. Visit to Neuschwanstein Castle — the castle of the "Mad King" Ludwig II of Bavaria, the inspiration for Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle. Ascent to the castle by minibus. Guided tour of the interiors with frescoes and decorations from Richard Wagner's operas. From the Marienbrücke bridge, a panoramic view over the Bavarian landscape of lakes and forests. Lunch in Füssen. Continuation to Munich: panoramic tour including the Church of the Holy Trinity, the Opera House, the Residenz and the English Garden. Dinner and overnight.

Neuschwanstein Castle

Day 8 — Munich › Airport

Buffet breakfast. At the indicated time, departure to Munich for the return flight.
